Year 8 Aquatics Camp
In week 2 of Term 1, the Year 8 students travelled by bus to Port Vincent for an exciting aquatics camp. We were split into four groups, and all had a go at sailing, windsurfing, kayaking and knee boarding. We enjoyed windsurfing, and sailing, which we got to sail the boats by ourselves, which was hard at first but we got the hang of it. On the first night we went to the local pub for tea, we had a choice between schnitzel or fish and chips. That night we all slept quite well especially Miss Denton who forgot to wake us up in the morning.
9-A-Side Football
On Friday of week 9 Year 8 & 9 students from JCS participated in the 2012 McDonalds 9-a-side Football Carnival on the school oval. The carnival was organised and managed by Craig Oliphant who is the SANFL Development Coordinator for the region. Jamestown entered 2 Year 8 and 1 Year 9 boy's teams. 1 Year 8/9 girl's team. The weather on the day was fantastic and all students participated well and demonstrated good sportsmanship throughout the day. Particularly pleasing was the participation and effort of students who had no previous experience with football, but helped fill teams and showed great improvement in skills and game play as the day progressed.
